Louder Than A Bomb CBHS Auditions: Sept. 29th

"The Point Isn't The Points, It's The Poetry"

For all you spoken word poets out there, this is your chance to showcase your talent! This will be the second year CBHS participates in the Louder Than A bomb competition. As a team and as an individual, you will have the chance to compete against other schools in the county. There are many rounds to this competition. To be on the Cypress Bay Team called The Live poet Society, you must audition with an original poem. This is the only performance where we'll allow you to use a paper to read off your poem; during all other performances, you will be expected to have your poem memorized. You'll be rated based on poem content, performance, voice, and presentation. If you are selected as a poet, you will be held responsible for participating and attending all meetings and competitions. This is definitely an amazing opportunity to distinguish yourself as a writer. There is also an application fee to register for the contest. If you're interested, have a poem ready to read for Sept. 29th in room 457 after school. You will be evaluated by a panel of judges including teachers, students that have participated in LTAB, and officers of the club.

Some advice: Read something original! The idea is to distinguish yourself. We want to hear YOUR voice! The more personal and original your poem is, the better off you'll be. Also remember that spoken word poems generally have a beat or rhythm to them. Think about your audience. Most of all, have fun! For examples click the link below that says "Button Poetry".
